I told the mother of all RAs about it. She said it had been planned in advance so they the RAs could search our rooms for alchohol and pour it out, and that they do this periodically. Apparently, the Fire Dept. had been notified in advance. Ironically, she's the only one who wrote people up for having beer in their fridge. (She also found some Jack's under my fucking bed.) A friend caught her red-handed pulling it while she turned the corner.
I found another centipede and a variety of cockroaches.
It's instances like this that give you an opportunity to respond like a "kid" or an adult.
If this really bothers you, I would look into whether these types of searches are legal, or as an alternative, if you can legally put a lock on your fridge, a foot locker, etc. Do you have a right to privacy in your dorm room? What about to a locked container? Any budding law students on the floor who would enjoy looking into this?
Of course, writing funny things on her board is a largely harmless revolt, but it sustains a permanent antagonism that in the end gets you nowhere.
Taking the mature route of learning and demanding your legal rights can achieve actual results, although, it takes hard work, and you run the risk of making more powerful enemies.
In the end, and not to be mean, if you want to be treated as an adult, you should respond like one.
That said, if her antics constitute merely a minor annoyance, I suppose it's more fun just to respond in kind.
(PS I went to a military academy, so our dealing with "RAs" were a little more cut and dry--and I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Shouldnt have alcohol in your dorm anyway... As long as the dorm is on campus the school can pretty much do as they wish. Dorms are school property, they just allow you to dwell there.
In most cases you just have to be there Freshman year then you join a sorority or move off campus. Should just abide by the rules until then.

The RAs at UGA cannot enter you room unless you are hurt or something like that or you let them in. They cannot go through your fridge, unless its the day before a long break (fall break, christmas break, spring break) where they check if you have any perishables. That RA sure sounds like an asshole.
Im thinking about doing the RA thing, but the rooms aren't that nice and the pay sucks and you cannot hold another job. I can make more working an actual job and paying for a room than working as an RA and I don't have to watch over freshmen.

Upon entering residence my first year of University we had to sign a sheet and included in that was permission for the "RA" (we dont call them that here, but same diff) to inspect our rooms as long as we were present.
She only checked them a few times to make sure we weren't vandalizing or keeping drugs or something, and we were there in the room with her, it wasn't a big deal at all.
We were also allowed to keep alcohol though...the legal drinking age here is only 19.

Right, Just because you live in "their" dorms, doesn't mean you lose your right to privacy. Some schools might have different rules concerning this ex...Military schools and whatnot. Though, something still doesn't seem right

My RA's were always cool and I always had liquor in my dorm room. It was always displayed too.
However, it was Ga. Tech and the year was '86 .
