I have yet to meet or see a woman worthy of romance. To be fair, I live in an armpit of the western world.... a small town who's major contact sport is meth labs...
Am I way off base to think that a good woman should have all of her teeth?
And, I still think the downfall of this country started when women got the right to vote.
(that ought to stir things slightly....)

Im no love Doctor but you know when you are in love..I fell in love with my guy when we first met. We have been together for 3 yrs and our love grows stronger every day. I thought that i would have never meet that one person but now that i have him im going to love him and keep him. I love him with all my heart. He is my life and love and better half..So when you find that person that you love tell them that you love them... It is like they say good things come to those that wait..

Probably so, Sannop. I am less a prince than a frog, most likely *RIBBIT* ahem, pardon me.
Ah, doom, if only. My personal situation prevents me from moving to a place "where the beer flows like wine".
If I had my preferences I would be someplace warm and sunny, (Australia or Hawaii come to mind) with hot women aplenty. But it is not to be. Alas, I have accepted my fate of bachelorhood, and expect nothing more. This acceptance has at least cured me from depression due to unfulfilled expectations. Now it's just a numb feeling...
Can I have a hug? Anyone?

Camel, I laughed my ass off!
Wrist, I'm with you. Just accept loneliness and move on. Unlike your situation, there are plenty of beautiful young ladies where I live, but trying to meet them in bars is useless. F#&@ the game.
I think most guys want to be romantic, but like anybody, when they get stressed out it's hard to be creative or thoughtful.

Wrist, Your true love could just be around the coner just give it time, and you will meet her, and when you do she will knock you on your ass, that will be the girl that you fall in love with. All that i can say is just give it time, and let me tell you this she is going to be your true love of all...Take care and best of luck...

Thanks for the concern hellacious, it is genuinely appreciated. However, it is those kinds of thoughts that had me so frustrated, I was ready to climb a tower with an automatic weapon and relish my death in a hail of police bullets at the end of my killing spree.
Better for everyone if I just back off
I'm thinking maybe the life of a buddhist monk or mad hermit might be appealing... the former I get to learn some kickass martial arts and get enlightened and stuff- which is nice... and the latter I get to chase kids off of my broken down porch with a broom/shotgun and rant endless nonsense to myself- which I'm already fully qualified for...
Any votes for which one?

Having been to Kamakura (the sight of the first buddhist temple and the first Shogunate in Japan) multiple times, and having read plenty on buddhism, I don't think you understand the religion one bit. Martial arts really have little, if anything, to do with the religion.
In order to save the serenity of others on their own road to knowledge, I vote that you do the hermit thing.
