It seems that Timber and I will be having a little "conversation" in the barn over the next few days. Pay no attention to the screams and shrill pleas for a clean death, it is only your imagination... It certainly wouldn't be Timber... nope... never Timber... ever... well, maybe... just a bit.

UGH!!!!

XML has its place - storing data in log files is not one of them.

Here's what I could find on the XML logging, straight from a DICE programmer working on the linux server/1.4 patch.

"Hi,

it is compressed and written to disk as the compressor flushes
out a block so in its compressed form it isn't useful for
realtime monitoring. The files are closed on map rotations.

I'm thinking about making the compression optional, but it
really is needed because the log files easily reach several
megabytes of size for a single round without compression.

O.K. Doomy....

Mind if I join you in the 'barn' with Timber? I've put together a new set of 'toys' in the 'black bag-o-fun'. Need to test them out before the next BOTA match. He looks to be a receptive, willing test subject. :D

(If not....he WILL BE!!!) :help:

Doom, I'm not sure which part of your picture caption you are objecting to? Sheep-pumping.... well-documented. Dick-cheesing kind of goes along with the aforementioned. And everyone knows you love being labeled as a 733t snip0rz. I don't see where the offensive part comes in.

Oh so now I get to ride up front with you, Hoog? Sweet! Maybe I can rest my head on your shoulder as we drive through the rolling hills of Bocage. It's like a dream come true. I foresee a picnic at the base of the windmill.

Chaq, actually the the idea came from me. The actual photoshop work came from a friend of mine. I can't take credit for that work. You added a little international flair to my bf1942 temple.

Harry, I said I wanted to checkout YOUR Canyon, not vice versa.

I figured everyone's computing room was decorated like mine.

The frames are real. The photos were all stolen from your posts and electronically inserted into the frames. My buddy has history as a graphic designer so he's very adept at Photoshop. The face and caption reflections are all "created".

The sh*tty captions were my doing. He could've done much better, I'm sure.

Camel, your image on the monitor was real, of course.

Ouch! Will ECGN be using the logs for any "special" calculations? I like Prowlinger's Top 10 idea - like "Most times killed by a teammates grenade" or "Most times killed by a knife when an ally sneaked across the river because you kept sniping from the same spot in that damn white house in the middle".

Gaming setup at work... (sorry for the pic quality - took it from my Palm Zire 71. Not bad for a PDA...)
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in the boat and drink beer all day...
