There are already that kind of games, just look for:
- Red faction, that game allowed miltiple landscape deforming possibilities and its sequel will include the same and dynamic lighting something not implemented on the first part. You could stand firing rockets to a wall and make a tunnel till your memory size could allow.
- Blade was one the first game that implemented the possibility of dynamic real multipoint lightning, the same happens with an upgrade developed for Quake 1 called tenebraded or somelike that.
Has someone tried out Aliens Vs predator 2?, that game was checked on my old computer: Pentium 3 500mhz and a Gforce 2 mx 400 64 MB and 256Mb RAM. The best framerate I got in the game was 10 fps, with the minimun detail ( no weapon model, no shadows, no dynamic lights, 640*480, 16 bits, etc...) the game and textures seems worse than the former quake 1!! , the same happened with RTCW, Jedi Knight 2, Medal of honor,SOF 2... The list is endless...
The is just 1 problem since we buy newest computers, there is no problem about not upgrades the source code and release games like unreal 2 with such a case of requirements, uff, It was better not to release it on june 2002, did anyone buy that game with that requirements on that date??

Did you ever see the bug where you could blow all the ground out from underneath a structure and then the structure would just sit there floating in midair?

Yes, it'll be a kick ass game, but you don't need to remind us of that fact in every second thread.
