Go into your BIOS and turn on AGP mode?

First thing i tried, it has video priority(sp?) settings with either [PCI/AGP] or [AGP/PCI] settings. I tried both, neither helped.

What kind of chipset does your board run?

Find out and then see if there are any drivers from the makers of the chipset...(VIA, Intel, SIS...)

Strange that your board didn't come with some sort of drivers...

Thanks bingham, but i have looked there already. All their drivers are either for Audio or LAN.

What speed is your AGP port running at and what's the aperture size?

(both found in the bios)'

Check the SmartGART tab in your advanced display properties as well, and see if the reported AGP speed there matches the setting in the bios. Turn off "Fast-Writes" as well if it's on.

I read my motherboard book and it says that u can only use 1.5v video cards in it. So i looked on my video card box 4x was 1.5v. I changed it to 4x and its working fine. Hope it stays this way.

Only thing wrong now is that i keep losing connection to SWG, so im going to give my router ip address DMZ hosting options, in otherwords take off the firewall and fully expose me to the internet.

Well, that didnt last long. Im starting to think that, maybe, my video card is overheating. The screen will go black, lose connection with monitor, and my sound will screech. This a sign of overheating?

You can still use a software firewall though. That'll allow outgoing signals as well as incoming.

You can usually tell by looking at the board itself. There are other chips on the board besides the CPU. These chips do various things, depending on the options your board came with (onboard sound, RAID, video...)

The name of the manufacturer of the chip will be on these chips (chip = square dark grey object imbedded in the board). The major chipset manufacturers are VIA, SIS and Intel. Intel is generally regarded as the most reliable, which is what you want.

A lot of the time the chipset will be listed in the feature list on the box the board came in, as well.

Sounds like you have another problem than lack of drivers, though... if everything is a month old, you should have pretty recent drivers to go with everything...

Actually I didn't use the name generator for that one. I had the same problem as you did for the first couple days. Crashing, constant crashing. Then I found a post on the SWG forums on how to fix the crashing. It has to do with the ATI drivers. Anyway the guy that posted it really did his homework and went into great detail why it was crashing. He posted a fix that worked like a champ, my game hasn't crashed once since. Lemme see if I can find it, it was almost a month ago so no promises.
