Please clarify exactly the purpose of the logo, who the target audiance is, where it will most appear, how large it's intended to eventually be (ie, web-page main graph or letter-head).
Like someone else, I'm a bit confused as to is it representing the ecgn gaming platform and its specific audiances, or is it to be used by the main umbrella corporation signifying one of its branches.
None of the designs inspire anything beyond defence of humdrum lack of vision for me. If web-page graphics based, the design would certainly do well to be very 3d.

Thanks Evan...
Forgive me for not knowinging more...
Defender hosting.... is more than just gameing platform hosting? If so... what other platforms do they support/appeal to?
Hard to give feedback on something when I know little about the applicable variables.
A device needs to represent the stability of history, the comfort of immediate recognition and a clear focus envisioning the future. Hooters and ass sell a lot of beer.

The Defender logo is intended to represent the parent company of ECGN. ECGN will be done next
Defender is a hosting company, from low end virtual hosting to high-end linux based clusters, primarly focused on professional class hosting customers (not the 12 year old who wants a $99 server).
The logo will be used in print, web, shirts, hats, banners, and just about any advertising method you can think of, within reason.
My intention for the logo is to present professional class hosting, a sense of security in terms of our services, and all that jazz.
Nothing goofy and catchy, rather something clean, slick, and professional.

Why the name 'Defender'? I can understand that for gaming clients... If your desire is to promote a safe hosting system... shouldn't this be represented in the logo?
Along that line I see the word Defender in one main shield, 3-d, silver, large. Below, each encased in a small shield of similar design, the letters hosting... emplying the parent umbrella is a safe, strong place where various roots get attached.
Meh... I don't like the word 'defender'.... too super-hero's. Defender of what? Verbs are hard to work in this visual.
