The Wheel of time would have been a great 5 book series.
Sparhawk was an interesting character, but I think the Belgariad and Mallorean series characters were probably the most likable in any fantasy series i've read.
The Song of Ice and Fire(so many people, self included, always call it fire and ice till pointed out
is probably the best overall I've read though.
Currently i'm rereading Belgarath the Sorcerer, because all my books are packed away and I don't feel like going out and finding a new series to read, and it was on top

Right now I'm reading "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexander Dumas (not dumbass), and i just finished reading "The Martian Chronicles" by Ray Bradbury for school. I'm really enjoying (enjoyed, finished one) these two books.
After reading The Three Muskateers for the 2nd time... I have to try another Dumas book.... I am going to read "The Count" this summer.
And Aleste
I always seem to stand alone in the fact that I liked the Elenium and the Tamuli more.

Robert Lynn Asprin is a very good author if you are looking for books to make you laugh. Particularly the MYTH series of books, not the same kind of humor as the Discowrld novels (good stuff) though. The Thieves World books were great reads as well, although they are not a single authors work. Some VERY memorable characters, most notable would be Hans Shadowspawn I think.

I am currectly reading Tishomingo Blues by Elmore Leonard.
Leonard wrote the books that the movie Get Shorty, out of Sight and Jackie Brown were based on(Jackie brown was called rum punch in book form, and is the most different movie from thebook).
After this one, i will be starting the Bourne books(Bourne Identity the first one), the Riply books(The Talented Mr Ripley the first one), or The Victors, by Stephen E Amrose, who also wrote Band of Brothers, D-Day and Citizen Soldiers(and more, but those are the three I have read by him).
For a good thriller(in a smart, realistic, way), I recommend The Day of the Jackal. I read it awhile ago, then read it for a second time last month, very good book.
