What do you use for your HSF? How many case fans?

Mon Nov 18, 2002 11:07 pm

I didnt build the comp MMmm. A friend built it for me. So i dont know what HSF means. But it has 2 case fans, the internal processor fan and a monster heat sink.

If you do find an email on the site PM or im my aim account it is in my profile so i can tell you my name so he knows who sent you.

Re: Dual CPU rigs

No offense, Quasi, but just because you have two CPUs, doesn't mean your system runs twice as fast. In fact, a lot of programs don't even take advantage of a dual-CPU setup, except your operating system (Only if it's WinXP Pro or Windows 2000).

Ok ..ok I hate to rehash this again but I've been gone for awhile and since quazi replied to my post and i've read all of the rest of the insuing posts I had to reply to ZOG that please don't forget linux in the above quote. Also you are right when you said it's for running two games on one machine because that is what I use mine for, But i'd like to tell you and MMMmmm that what I think quazi is seeing is in the proformance in task manager I also have win2k server running and it looks like when i'm running just one game that both of the processors are running exactly the same.So I think he is confused and dazed with this and he is mcse and cisco?WOW where do I sign up...Sorry quazi had to do it.

any predictions as to what my 3dMark benchmark score will be?

Also I went over to madonion.com to check out some other peoples benchmark scores. I looked at their top ten highest scores, they were all over 20,000. Those bastards overclocked the shit out of their processors.
there were some p4 2.5 ghz clocked to damn near 4ghz. And I thought MMmmgood was overclock happy.:P

Wed Nov 20, 2002 9:39 pm

Heh, I could get my 2.4 probably up to 3.4 and be stable....but my mobo literally wont go that high. I am the highest setting that my board can go.

Also keep in mind that those people overclock the hell outta their computers, but they arent stable.

They run long enough to finish the tests, maybe, then they reboot.

Wed Nov 20, 2002 9:44 pm

I just took a look at the #1 guy, with a score of 21504, and he cheated.

Notice his FSB is 9729 mhz, impossible. He altered the score to get it that high. My FSB runs at 156 mhz.

The guy in second i believe. He supercools his entire machine and is using a P4 3.06 ghz to start with, so I believe he got it to 4.0 ghz.

Although this incredibly stresses the system to run it like this, and their computer is highly unstable, they got a high score. Their Vcore is 1.8+, and you can fry it at 1.85.

Wed Nov 20, 2002 10:27 pm

hey mmmmgood, why do all those guys have p4 with FSb under 200.
The high end p4s have 533 mhz fsb. Do you lose fsb speed due to overclocking the cpu?

Wed Nov 20, 2002 10:45 pm

FSBs are quad-pumped. If it says 533mhz FSB, that means it runs at 133 mhz. At least P4s are...

Hey Dogster,

I never overclock anything in my PC, exactly for the reasons MmmmGood explained...instability, and extreme stress on your system. Give me a stable and fast system over some tweaked and pumped rocketship that crashed more than four times aday.

My highest 3DMark2001SE score was somewhere in the vicintity of 13600, and that was with an ATi Radeon Pro 9700 video card, which was a bit less stable than I liked and I ended up returing in i favor oif my old G-Force4 t14600....which topped out with a 10600 3DMark.

I have an Athlon 2000+ XP
512MB DDR PC2100
PNY G-Force4 ti 4600
MSI MS-6373 m/b with nForce chipset
550 Watt power supply
