After hearing people play this, I have made a choice!

I'll pick up farcry the next day, and wait till doom's price drops.

It isn't worth 55 bucks, for great graphics and mediocre gameplay. :)

Far cry is a good one. I think Doom 3 graphics are better then far cry, but wasted in all that darkness. Can't wait to see what some modders do with it.

I never picked up far cry, because I was waiting for doom. But now I think would be a good time now that the price has dropped.

Jeffro Ive completed far cry, and Im now several hours into Doom 3. Doom 3 is by far the superior game. It has a better story, better atmosphere, better graphics, and it scares the crap out of you:rotflmao:

Far Cry's story is half-assed, and the gameplay is extremely repetitive. It got so boring that I actually put on god mode half way through so I could just run through and see the rest of the levels.

Been playing Doom 3 for a few hours now...not too bad. Gotta admit, not having a weapon with built in flashlight is kinda dumb, but I understand the effect they were going for w/lighting and such. Decent atmosphere and gameplay too. I have to say though: this game is nothing compared to the System Shock games. Many of the elements of Doom 3 are taken from those games, such as the personal logs you find that advance the backstory. If you want a real scary game experience, try System Shock 2 if you can find it...it went down to $15 a few years ago.

i'm not to impressed with it. its like call of duty all hipe and i buy it, play it and i'm sick of it. only thing its got going in my opinion is the graphics. i think the muliplayer is going to like cod also, i hate it. as for scaryness i like resident evil 4 better. not dissin' the game just stating opinion

This game totally kicks ass! If you are bugging about the darkness just turn the brightness up in the game.I have jumped quite a few times and I must say this is the best FPS shooter I have played. Period.

My review of the game after a couple days of play.

Graphics - 10

Sound - 10

Gameplay - 7

AI - 4

Multiplayer - 5

Replay Value - Unknown, haven't finished the game.

High Points - Great graphics, creepy environment, very detailed maps

Low Points - Repetitive and scripted gameplay, Multiplayer lacking in vastness, AI is very lacking and predictable
