I personally don't care for the Yankee's just because I'm tired of hearing about how good they are...so I was happy to see them get knocked from the WS.

Now I just wanna see my Cards win tonight and I'll be happy to see them take care of the Sox in the WS.

If for some wild chance that the 'stros make it...I'll be rooting for Bahston.

GO CARDS!

I hear you that beating the Yankees was the WS for you, I looked at this series the same way as well. But the only way you get to wear a WS ring is to win 4 more games. The curse isn't over yet. If fact, if you think about it......if Houston wins and plays the Sox, you'll have Clemens, the pitcher the Sox traded and who played for the Yankees pitching against them. That almost sounds like a Babe Ruth incarnated scenario.

Guess I just became a Houston fan :)

Tix available today by phone only at 3:00. I was 13 the last time they made and I will be calling for tickets. I'd even take standing room for $50

Earth to sentient entities; There is no such thing as a curse!

Repeating the above is tantamount to me calling you a frigin idiot, so please re-read it at your own pace in a quiet room.

As far as Boston having the 2nd highest payroll, you're right. But because Boston has this sad-sack history hanging over their heads AND they're in the same division as the Spankees, they're forced to drop a pretty penny for their payroll.

But remember, David Ortiz was a cheap acquisition for the sox. Mark Belhorn makes $400.000. Arojo is a waiver wire deal from the Pirates. It's not all about dropping heavy bucks on big names, it's about making smart decisions and having a little luck.

Let's face it, there's a lot of luck involved with winning a series. I believe Tonmy Clark hit a ground-rule double in game 4 that would have scored 2 runs if it hadn't bounced in to the stands. We're talking a matter of literally 3 inches between 1 run and 3.

I think that most everyone outside of NY wanted to see the Yankees lose...at least that is the impression that I get.

Tonight's NLCS will be great, but I too wonder if we have already seen the best baseball of the playoffs...let's hope that the WS is not a letdown after this much excitement from both the ALCS and NLCS.

How curious that people love to tell us there is no curse when the actual baseball players are the most superstitious of them all. From wearing thier hats upsidedown to never changing thier sox or cleaning thier helmets. Why tell us non pro players that at all, honestly.

Fact is, if they lose the series, they will STILL believe in a curse.

As big of a Boston fan as i am, the curse isn't broken until they win four more games. Btw Pedro is your daddy.

You have no idea how fun it was to walk into school today and say "How bout them Yankees?!? Looks like Steinbrenner wasted his money." to all my Yankee fan friends. What a game

as stated before bossman...this was our world series..you have no clue what you are talking about. Sure it would be nice to top it off if a real world series vic...but beating the yanks is extremely satisfying. For once, the umpires got ALL the calls right. For once the bounces went our way. Cashman looks at george after the game and says " Next year will be our year" bahahahah

Just because some dopey ball-player believes in a curse, doesn't mean there IS a curse. Here's a news-flash for you: Baseball players aren't famous for their intellects.

Carl Everett doesn't believe in dinosaurs, or that men had actually walked on the moon. Should I believe what he believes simply because he can hit a baseball?

There is no curse. There are only simple-minded people believing in curses.
