K guys, thanks to some chicanery (look it up) I have managed to foil THE VERY GODS THEMSELVES!!! I have PS up and running!!! Thanks go out to GOOD and Gui for getting me through this rough period with veins intact.

All set up as Doomfarer (yeah baby yeah!) in the New conglamorate. Gots a few questions and I wanted to avoid TS for this as I my listening faculties are at the ebb tide... I see the extra mouse mapping tabs, I want, no NEED, to use these things. Help would be welcome as the in game help, wasn't. I had hoped to show up and play tonight, unless I inject the coffee, I am probably not gonna be able to do so. Look forward to being a noob at one more game... Ain't life just grand?

I've been playing for the last couple of days, and I must say, the game is boring me to tears. I'll reserve final judgement until the final retail version is released, but BF has nothing to worry about in my books.

ok ive downloaded the game and started playing, but can anyone tell me why it keeps disconnecting me?

There's lots of action, just not the kind I'm looking for. It's hard to explain unless you've played it.

Personally, the biggest drawback for me is that there's just too many "functions" in the game. I like the quick and dirty style of play in BF. There's no major commitment to playing BF - hop in for a match or two, all you need to do is put the enemy in your sites and pull the trigger.

In Planetside, you can do the same, but there's so much overhead involved. Forming squads. command points, upgrade points, spheres of influence, blah blah blah. It's just too much for what boils down to an action game.

I'm sure it'll develop a cult following with those who can devote the time to it, but I just want 30 minutes of action here and there. Oh Battlefield 1942, you'll never lose me.....*swoon*

I got really pissed off today after twice my hack was stolen from me by some jackass. They come in and steal your points that you would get and it upsets me dearly to have to deal with this level of idiocy.

BTW MmmGood when do i get my admin status i'm in a mood to run some smacktards through.

I think you will get in, it only took about two or three days for my acceptance email.

same here, only took me three days for email. and about 10 days for cds.

I keep on hearing about guys getting cds mailed to them.
I just had a link emailed to me that let me download the whole game. what is the difference?

Yeah i downloaded my game files too, no difference in game, in fact i think its better because it only takes a day to download games while it takes over 3 days for cds...

The only difference is that open beta testers get cds and exclusive testers have to download, could be other way around i dunno

i thought that either u dl or they send u a cd becuase some ppl have 56k connection.

That could be true too but somewhere on their site I saw that a certain number of people would get cds possibly the first ones to apply for beta

Anyway wouldnt it be a waste of money to give everyone cds for free if they play the game without paying
