Well what's the rest of your system specs? Have you used Creative cards before?

Here it goes:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo
Athlon 3000+
uhhh....
On-board sound
Geforce 4 Video Card
512 PC3200 Ram
Does that cover it?
And no I haven't used them before but the brand isn't all that important to me as long as it works good!

Is your onboard sound the SoundStorm or RealTek/tech chipset?

Then your SoundStorm is just as good as a sound card. Trust me, I have the same motherboard. No need for a sound card!

If it isn't SoundStorm, then get the sound card.

Ok, I saw this and first thought you posted in the wrong thread becasue I assumed you were talking about a vacation spot somewhere, but now I found it on Newegg and it has many good reviews so I might look in to buying this one.... If I do does anyone have any idea how to turn my onboard sound off? Probably in the BIOS or a jumper....

Yes, I'm sure it is Soundstorm now. But okay when I'm in BF1942, it crackels and the sound quality is poor. I believe this only happens in 1942 but also when I play the DC mod and I switch to the nosecam veiw in a plane, I dont hear any engine sounds. I have tried re-installing the drivers so I don't know what it could be! Could you tell me what you have your sound settings on in BF, Evan?

Thanks

I don't have BF1942 installed, but that doesn't seem like an issue with SoundStorm unless it's all games.

Slayer, I had the same problems with my Soundblaster Audigy - it's not your card. Since I got my new PC (which has an on-board Soundstorm on my mobo), I haven't had that problem.

Wish I could tell you what it was, but I don't know.
