No CD key? CoD good game?

Postby Jim0322 » Fri Jun 25, 2004 2:54 pm

I was browsing e-bay for a used copy of Call of Duty. I heard it was good and am interested in giving it a try although I was not overly impressed with the demo. In any case, there are quite a few copies for sale and the listing says NO CD key included. Are these all pirate copies? Can you even play without a CD key? I have bought a few used games from invidividuals from e-bay and have been happy. Some games just are not worth $50 but are fine for 15-20. Who are these mega-sellers with copies with no CD key? I don't like them because they really clutter e-bay. Some of them sell CD only, no box.

Jim

P.S. Is CoD worth it? The demo seemed extremely arcade-like and it bothered me that everyone looked like they were only 3-4' tall. Is it really hobbit warfare? Does anyone think the people in CoD look far too short to be human?

I'm pretty sure CoD requires a cd key.

If it says no cd key I wouldn't trust it.

I don't believe you need a CD key. If im not mistaken, its based on the Quake 3 engine.. and no key is required.

The CD key is required for online play and installation.

The characters looked fine to me in the demo - I think it's just that you're used to the view distance/POV in BF, and it is definitely different in CoD.

The Single Player game is one of the best SPs I have ever played. The MP, however, pales in comparison to BF.

My friend bought the game when it first came out and it had two cd keys. He gave one to my son, and yes it does require one.

I thought it was only a little better than MoHAA in its SP. Graphics are Ok but the sounds are excellent. I finished the entire game in 2 days. Multiplayer can be fun if you're into that kind of shooter only stuff. Also, you do not need to have your cd in the drive to play MP, which I like.

I have the game, you need a valid CD key to play online, whereas single player you can use a generator.

Multi is where the fun is, single player is good but short.
