Yeah, Michael Moore is a Bush basher and he obviously is out to make money and get Kerry in office. He needs to realize that the people he pokes fun at are the people that give him the freedom to do that. Go to China and do the same thing, he would be dead before he shot the first roll of film. I don't like him.

Very nice citation of Christopher Hitchens, Jeffro. What's interesting is that Hitchens is quite liberal himself, and castigates "Fahrenheit 9/11" as the unbelievable muck-raking tripe that it is. Poor Michael Moore - he can't even come up with an original name - someting Ray Bradbury isn't happy about at all.

What's especially sad is that people will watch and believe this "documentary" (though IMO, it should be reclassified as "fiction").

Why is it when someone uses their right to voice their opinion against politicians that people always come up with 'go to another country.'

BTW, those in office never gave us the freedom to poke fun of them, our ancestors did. It is also ironic that the current administration is censoring many of us, especially in the media. Howard Stern, a Republican, has dropped his support of Bush because of it.

I saw this movie, and like Moore's other work I liked it a lot. In this particular movie he has taken a giant leap as a film maker.

Like his other work, it is heavily sided to his views(he will show soldiers against the war but not those for it). That being said, there is a lot about this movie where the facts can not be disputed.

I am still waiting for our great leader to explain why 24 members of bin Ladin's family were allowed to fly out of this country while all other flights were grounded(included Bush Sr's) on 9-13. Not only that, but over 100 Saudis not related to Bin Ladin were also given a free pass out of here. I find it dispicable that this administration allowed them to leave without so much as a simple interview to see if they possibly knew Osama's location. I know I know I know, Clarke did it, not Bush, he even admits it. Then there lies a bigger flaw; how did Bush not have control over this? How is it the President of the United States is not in control of allowing grounded planes to take off with Bin Ladin family members 2 days after 9-11?

So you enjoy the fact that Moore twists the truth, and only shows one side of the situation?

For example:
In bowling for columbine, he makes every gun owner look like a complete hoosier or psycho, when in reality, that is totally wrong.

I honestly hope that smug fatass has a heart attack.

Michael Moore is using his position in Hollywood to sway the election results.

Nothing more, and nothing less.

It's no secret that he doesn't like Bush, so why should anything in his so called documentary be taken for anything other than fiction?

I'm not even english, so why should I write perfectly english? And dont you see that I just post things that are not serious in a thread that should not be taken seriously. Moore makes movie to show is point of view, like it or not. He wants to show what he thinks cuz he thinks he's right. Like you did with this post, you think Moore is wrong and you think you're right to think that. And that's good cuz that's a part of freedom. What I think is that you shouldnt hate or like Moore for using is freedom to try to change the world to what he thinks is better, but support him or just dont mind him if you dont like him. No need to be offenced cuz he exagerate the thruth, just look at the true part of what he shows and dont mind the others. He has to add a part of drama to try to make money with his movie so he can finance his anti-Bush projects.

Dont know if that makes sense when traduce with my excellent english but oh well.

Right Wing = Ann Coulter

Same idea... pander to your ideological niche knowing full well that the more things change, the more they seem the same which will keep you making $$$ for quite a while. Beaucracy creates beaucracy and it keeps a lot of people employed. Governments do stupid things because they themselves must service the lowest common denominator, the public. Eh, human beings are human beings no matter what side they fall on (or into)

On a side note, I rather liked Moore's Bowling for Columbine, his thesis that America's gun problem is not simply a result of an excess of guns, violent games & television, poor parenting etc but rather a reality of a society with a deep rooted sense of paranoia and distrust of our next door neighbor was really rather interesting. Ah well, flame on :flame:
