Spiderman 2

Postby Ryan » Thu Jul 01, 2004 11:07 pm

Damn! What a good movie!

Just got back from seeing it.. and as the critics say, its definitely a great summer movie. Action packed, drama, and more! Not something that would win emmys, but a great movie non-the-less.

I highly reccomend this movie. But don't take my word for it :)

Negative. It's not Venom for 3. The villain for the third one _is_ revealed at the end of the movie, but I won't spoil it for everyone else.

Besides, Venom comes from an entirely different plot line . . . they couldn't even begin to try to explain it given the direction this movie series has taken.

i used to read spiderman but it has been many years. correct me if im wrong but isnt Venom some weird alter ego anti spiderman looking thing??
if it is, yes that would be too much for the general public who are not into the deep plots that this gets into. they need to just stick to the basic villians first, the ones everyone can recognize.
i have not seen this yet but cannot wait to go!
Kristin Dunst is so f*n hot !

Saw this opening night... A really great movie, a lot of big character development, you get to see how Peter Parker is a great guy. There was a lot of plot climaxes, then it falls down, then it rises again... This movie portrays Spiderman more as a frail human being, and not just a superhero only!

Great movie, 5 out of 5.

Venom should have been in the second movie. I heard they were trying to do it all chronologically.

I grew up on Spiderman. First novel I ever read was a Stan Lee book on Spidey and The green Goblin. It irks me that they always need to kill the 'good' bad guys in Superhero movies. Jack Nicholson was awesome as the Joker. The only real exception being Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor in Superman.

I really hope the new Batman movie doesn't suck. I'm already questionable about Christian Bale as the new Batman.

Hopefully I'll see Spidey 2 this weekend. I really liked the first one.

Yes and no. Venom is actually from a whole different universe and is a living symbiote that attaches itself to Peter Parker when Peter's original Spidey suit is destroyed (Venom = living suit). Peter, however, discovers that the suit is actually alive and making him do evil things, so he takes it off. Then the suit finds its way to Eddie Brock, who is the one with which the suit stays for pretty much it's whole cycle. A piece of the suit is broken off later in the story line and that peice of the suit becomes Carnage.

Not only is it too convoluded for audiences, but trying to introduce the whole "alternate universe" aspect of Venom's origin would be way too out there for the movie series.

See the movie. If you're at all familiar with the comics, you'll know who the next villain is by the end of the movie (in fact, the last few minutes are basically a set up for it).

And don't forget to spot Stan Lee somewhere in this movie! :P

But if you followed Secret Wars where the symbiote first came up the alternate universe angle will make sense.

RC--We going to talk comics on the way to DC?
