Just close the smoking room and get it over with!

I greatly respect the admins that run this server, and those of you that know me know that I'm not a rabble-rouser, but the recent banning of certain topics has left the smoking room devoid of virtually _any_ worthwhile content. It has become little more than a haunt for spammers and a dumping ground for frivolous posts.

I respect your decision and your right to ban certain topics, but I really don't see the point in keeping the smoking room open in its current state. The non-stop spamming is, at least in my opinion, far more harmful than any of the banned topics ever were.

I think many of the political threads were worthwhile. Some did get out of hand. It is too bad they have to be eliminated completely.

Could we just take the smoking room of the list of forums that populate the recent post list?

That way, only people interested in all the spam will see it.

I was on vacation last week (visited my northern Canadian friends eh), so must have missed all the hoopla.

Heck, I like getting flamed. I can take it, really. To me it's just a discussion even when it gets nasty. Looks like a conspiracy to me

No. I'm sick of political threads clogging the Smoking Room.

Personally, I vote for a sub-forum to the smoking room - a Political Forum. That way everyone is happy. I don't have to sift through political threads, and you guys can bash, flame, and war all you want.

You're exaggerating - there haven't been "many topics banned." We're just sick of these psuedo-intellectual flame wars.

Also, the only reason the Smoking Room seems like a spam dump is becuase of Pointless Pete. I reccomend his threads all be merged and he be banned if he doesn't stop. It was funny the first two threads, but now it's annoying and disrupting.

Don't blow up the situation becuase you're pissed you can't bash and flame anymore.

I never bash or flame on these forums, nor did I claim that there have been "many topics banned". It was not my intent to blow up any situation. I take minor offense to your implications. I merely stated an opinion in what I thought to be a rather staid fashion.

I would have PM'd the same thing to an admin, but there are many admins these days, and I wanted all of them to see it. Beyond that, I know that others share my sentiment, and I wanted to give them the chance to voice their concerns as well. I apologize if I ruffled any feathers - it was not my intent in the slightest.

If you would like to discuss politics and religion, please do it elsewhere. I have provided links in the stickied thread concerning our updated policies on said threads.
