Well it looks like I can put Russia on my list of places NOT to go. I think i will just stay in the U.S.A for awhile.

This could be very very ugly.

The Russians don't tolerate this kind of shit. Look what happened at that theatre last time.

Scared to see what the final body count will be.

Taking kids like this is sure to raise a lot of anger at the Chechnyan seperatists. I wonder what kind of mandate that will provide for Putin.

Interesting quote to be read here.

"It is a different kind of war, where you cannot see your enemy and where there is no front line, but nonetheless this is an entirely real threat," Ivanov told reporters. "Russia is not the only country that faces this new threat."

And although I had not heard it previously it looks from this story they are blaming those two plane crashes on terrorism now also? And I hadn't heard a word about that Subway bombing either.

Its been said that both were terrorist attacks in the first place. I've heard that from the beggining. However, its Russia we are talking about and that country's ablity to convey even the most simplist of messages is minute at best.

At first they were concerned about 2 women who boarded each flight a little before takeoff, one on each plane. They said that their wasn't much contact w/ their families after the tragedy... meaning they were suspects. They both were either from or close to Chechnya so that raises some eyebrows as well.

However, to travel in russia you need a domestic passport and to leave you need an international passport.

In 1998 when i went there, my g/f at the time's grandfather bought passage for both me and my g/f using a friend of his son and daughters papers. lol, follow that.

All that meaning that no one ever saw what my g/f or i looked like at time of purchase, didnt check our papers when boarding the train and didn't even consider to really check mine since i stuck out like a sore thumb.

What im saying there are serious breaches of conduct on many different levels there. I was the last person to board the plane back to the U.S., they were closing the door behind me. I cant tell how easy it was to board the flight. 1 person checked my passport and visa for about 2 seconds. No one asked what i was doing in Russia for a month either. No asked why i had a package of 50 cd's in my bag when entering Russia either....

Security breaches and a whole bunch of terrorists.

Two men go to hell - an American and a Russian.

When they get there, Lucifer tells them 'OK, we have an American hell, and a Russian hell. You get to pick where you go.'

The American leaps up and shouts "I want to go to the American hell!", and poof, he's gone.

The Russian calmly states "Russian hell, please."

After many eons, they meet up in a "Hell mixer". The American says "Yeah, American hell isn't so bad, we eat one shovel of shit and then we can do whatever we want for the rest of the day.". The Russian snickers and says, "Well, in Russian hell, we have to eat one shovel of shit per day, but half the time there's no shit, and the other half there's no shovel."

This string of terrorist attacks could very well plunge us into another world conflict. Think about it, putin gets blasted for all of it, he gets overthrown and a radical new leader is put in power. It could bring back communism thus a great threat to world peace. They could also retaliate to countries from which these kidnappers are from.

I am thinking that the more often I read "Rainbow Six" the more I would like to see terrorists dealt with in such a neat and clean manner (damn reality). Hostage takers are scum IMO. Those that take children as hostages are lower than that.

I don't see anyway that this finishes pretty. So I will have to remember to keep the hostages and their families in my thoughts and hope for minimal casualties on their end, and the extermination of those that have done this.

I got say something here;

I few months ago I met a ex-Spetsnaz,

[a lifer -who was incedentaly in the same boot camp at the same time as V. Putin, current Russian leader]

He said that there has and is alot of stuff that we do not really hear much about or even know about.

He pointed out that we [US/UK/Eu] were coming in late on the same war. We might not be exactly allies but we are fighting a common enemy.

I am not trying to get into politics nor religion or anything else--

Just passing along what my translator passed along to me.

Got to love those Russians:

Commandos storm Russian school
http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/09/03/russia.school/index.html

The Russians don't take no sh*t for very long. I like the way they handled this. Looks like not many innocent casualties.
Those scumbag Chechyn terrorists/murderers really showed thier true cowardice by taking school CHILDREN hostage. Those poor kids will be scarred for life. Let's hope they find the ones that escaped and kill 'em.
Russia needs to go back in and step down hard on Chechnya this time, sweep the country for all terrorists/murderers.

Yeah, I don't see too much sunshine & happiness in Chechnya's future after this one.

250+ people hospitalized
20+ dead
13 Terrorists escaped.

Shoot-outs in the streets of Russia with RPGs and Heavy Machine Guns. Terrorists planting mines around the students. The roof collapsing. Army blowing holes in the side of the building so kids can escape. Children getting burned alive inside the school.

This was tragic day.
