is there anyway to make say a geocities webpage or a tripod page to a .com address?

Yes, Geocities does it for $9/month.

You could also do it if you have a redirecr service. Like when I had my own FTP server, I didn't own the .com address but it was something like this, I went and downloaded software that would report my I{ to the main server, then if you went to say http://www.abc.com you'd goto the television station's website, but ftp.lordshard.abc.com would take you to my ftp server and lordshard.abc.com would take you to my HTML index page.

You could probably do something similar to that with geocities, if you could get assign it manually the appy and port number/addy of your place.

It's been a while since I had my FTP server so I don't remember everything about it, sorry.

sounds like you mean something like this, http://www.no-ip.com/ not sure if it will work in his case

i pretty much just want it when i type say geist.com it goes to the site i built om geocities
