Sims 2

Postby Conscious* » Wed Sep 15, 2004 7:43 pm

I picked up the Sims II today, even though it doesn't come out till the 17th, GameStop sold it to me tonight. Im installing now, and its 2.87GB, 4 Disks. I actually had to delete BF42 and BFV off my computer to fit it on my 20GB hard drive. Ill let you guys know how it is, and Buli, if you pre-ordered it like you said, you should be able to pick it up tomorow if you want it, unless your having it shipped to you. ;)

selling like hotcakes at my retail division of my company.

They received the CDs and DVD version today and DVD version was gone by the afternoon..

Man the girls at our work place went nuts upon hearing its arrival in shipping/receiving that they ran to put one on hold for themselves, including one or two guys.

Loads of detail....you pick everything out about your Sims from the colour of their eyes to the structure and sizes of noses and chins and eyebrows.

Sims have more extensive personalities and there are a lot more options for interactions between people..... a lot of ways to create havoc among them...BAHAHAHAHA

You have an option to turn on "aging" where they grow from infant to toddler to teen to adult to elderly...to death and can even inheret $$ from a family member's death.
You can even get pregnant and pick out your babies genetics.
Sims are "more intelligent" and can figure things out a little better...such as if a spouse is cheating.

There are parks and other cool things within neighbourhoods... neighbourhoods are done beautifully.

And lastly... and I know the boys out there will love this..... there's options for girl-on-girl action....apparently

The game is awesome so far... the panning and rotating took some getting used to ... but im lovin' it. I find building options and shopping are a lot easier with the colour coordinating. :D :D

I love it so far, its so much better then the original sims, sorry i couldn't post soon, internet hasn't been working. Basically everything is more real, things are timed better for instance, it doesn't take 2 hours to eat something like it could have in the original sims. When you do eat something, it gives you a couple of choices what to make or get. For instance if you want breakfast, it gives the option of Toaster Pastries, Cereal, Eggs. The more cooking skill you get (Cooking skill also advacnes when your cooking, unlike the original sims) more things to cook, certain things fill certain sims hunger level quicker. Teenagers are probally the best addition because they can cook for themselves (or everyone), get a job, and still go to school. More updates when i find them out.

Best part so far, is the realness, adults have days off, they can call in sick..etc.

I'd rather play with my old GI Joes or LEGOs.

Do they still get caught moving through door frames and wait 1-hour for one another to move, or walk in on someone in the shower then take a crap in the adjacent toilet?

No...
Sims also have "aspirations" or goals in life and its your job to help them pursue whatever they want to in life, you choose the basic aspiration that will be most important to them, such as Romance, Family, Knowledge, Money or Social Popularity.

Houses look much more real, and you have many more things you can do to them to make them look the way you want, especially the roof tool.

Sims also retire, and when they die, sims related to them obtain their life insurance, its not deducted from the family money either.

Sounds like they've improved the game quite a bit. In the DVD version, is it all on one DVD or two?

I don't know why more games aren't being distributed on DVD???
