x800 pro HELP
I am about at the end of my rope here. I ordered a new x800 pro two weeks ago. Got to spend a couple of days beating my head against the black screen of "PISS ME THE FUCK OFF" when trying to install my new toy. Of course I was then interrupted by Ivan, so now I resume the frustration.
Current config:
Dell Dimension 8200
2.4 P4
850e chipset
1024 Rambus (shutup)
Antec 350w ATX power supply
I am TIRED of trying to update my fucking bios, my "AGP drivers" and everything else that DOESN'T WORK. In my attempts to try and divine the problem I thought I stumbled onto some mention of the 850e chipset having an issue with with 8x agp cards, now I cannot rediscover that tidbit (if it ever was). So I am begging you guys for help before I try to deal with the costumer service peeps on the phone (I hate yelling at innocents). My BIOS is as updated as it gets, I can find no AGP drivers for my rig, so please don't tell me to try that unless you have an addy for an appropriate AGP driver that will solve the problem. Any and all HELP would be greatly appreciated, I would hate to think I burned $365 on a card I cannot currently use.
PS. I have already tried the installation FAQ over at ATI, with no joy.
PPS. PLEASE DEAR GOD TAKE PITY ON ME

Did you delete your old drivers before installing the new card?
When I first got my 9700Pro I had to format my HD and install XP all over again.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but everything that I read when I was having that same issue pointed me toward a total reformat, no way around it.
You can look at the bright side. Everything will run so much better with a reformat and youll have a bad ass new toy to play with.
oh..BTW..watch out for Jeanne, shes coming your way.
