$120 on newpaper ads
1 month of waiting
and finally I have someone calling about my ads in the paper!

A buisiness has agreed to use me instead of their local PC shop to do their weekly PC "tune-up", for $25/per hour compared to the PC shop's $40/per hour.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but if everything goes good he could refer me to other people and other companies and I could quit my crappy burger king job that I had to take on for $6.25/per hour (exactly 1/4 of what I will be making working for that company )

I had to take a BK job briefly too, Shard. I have a degree in Comp Sci and a CCNA and couldn't get a job. I work for Home Depot now with a few other PC guys ironically. One worked for Xerox for 13 years as a network Admin and the other is a MCSE that worked for Microsoft in No. Va..

A friend of mine wants me to do the network for the Apartment complex he works for. My $40/hr asking rate was 30 dollars below the local guys here.

Funny.. when I was still in school, I got offered a job making $45/hr doing JCL and SQL for Prudential Ins. I thought to myself back then.. When I graduate, I'll make so much more money then that. Wish I'd taken it.

Even 2 hours is equal to a full days work making $6.25 at BK, and I want more free days during the week so I can look for a job and do my PC things.

You do one at a time, probably making a weekly full backup, or incremental backup, scan for virsus's, read their error logs, read performance logs, tweak VM, and other type of things, kill spyware, optimize their network iff they have one, install win updates, keep all their software up2date blah blah blah.

I'll ask exactly what the people they were going to were doing and probasbly just end up doing that.

Yeah, it blows, when you want a job you can't find one, and when you don't want one you can't find one :freak:
