I subscribe to PC Gamer. They gave HL2 a 98%!!!!! They had only positive things to say about it. They usually don't rate games above 94. This game is definitely on my list. Although with Rome: Total War taking lots of my time I am not in a hurry to rush out and get it. Pirates! is coming out soon too as well as Battle for Middle Earth RTS. This has been a good few months for PC gaming.

we'll see how good it is.

doom3 had outrageous ratings in tons of reviews, but in the end it wasn't anything spectacular.

Not my mag. i found the review online. There are a couple more out there, also.

I personally find it dumb that you can not DL and play this right now via steam. If it is done, it's done, no need to wait until CD's are pressed, boxed and sent out.

I would get it from steam except for the fact I can have a hard copy on CD for the same price on the same day the pre-loads are activated.

I agree, except those reviews also noted a lack of replayability and the lack of a good MP. Let's face it, with their support of modders there will be tons of MP options.

From what I can tell Day of Defeat: Source is DoD just ported to the source engine. If so, then I can not wait for Day of Defeat 2!!! If Day of Defeat had the scope of BF/Forgotten Hope I would still be playing it. Sadly the game is hindered by the limits of the HL 1 engine.

I thought the Doom3 demo rocked! Although I didn't buy the game because of supposedly crap multiplayer and I already know what happens in doom1, so why bother playing through the remake?!

Valve has a contract with VU. The game has to be release in the stores first. That is what their huge lawsuit is about.

I am really glad that they have decided to release the game worldwide at the same time, so I dont have to wait 15 days to play the game and see how the rest of the world enjoy it...

EB Games takes used PC games. Doom 3 helped to get Rome: Total War.
