Mozilla Firefox

Postby CodeRed68 » Tue Nov 09, 2004 11:24 pm

So I installed and am using the Firefox browser. The finished version was released today. What does everyone think about this browser?
It is supposed to be safer than Explorer. It also has this cool feature that allows you to tab through multiple windows within the same, original window.

I've been using Firefox for about 2 months now and I have to say that it beats internet explorer away! I haven't downloaded the final version yet, but I can't imagine that it's added too much more.

Here's hoping it will kick IE's ass!

It is very good and fast. There's only a couple of weird portals that don't show up correctly on the screen. with version 1.0 preview.

However, CodeRed, Netscape has had multiple tabs for years.

Yup, and opera has had it longer than firefox too.

I'm a huge FireFox fan. It does everything IE can't do :)

Here is a screenie. LOTS of plugins for it.. in the top-right, current weather, and the next 2 days forcast.. and in the bottom right, that notifies me when I have a new GMail message.

I´m using it since 10 months ago, and I like it. I must to say, I dont like how this browser interprets some CCS commands(that would be standard for all browsers) that IE does right (scroll, and absolute/relative positions). If you want see those problems, only check with IE and Firefox the VOL link of my sign.

About safety, considering more than 85% uses IE, sure the majority virus, trojans and others are designed for attack IE.

Yeah, funny yours looks exaclty like mine. From the gmail extensions to the weather in the task bar, do you use adbock. I would have to say by far that adbock is the best damn extension ever built, just right cilck on an image and click block this image and bam, gone. Another cool extension is "open this page in IE" for those websites that have to use IE such as automatic updates and the other few out there.

CodeRed...click on 'tools' and then you'll see Extensions and Themes...in the bottom corner of either of those screens you'll have a link for 'get more extensions' and that will take you to pages full of them.

Adblock is the best part of Firefox IMO...its great in that it prevents adds from the source.

I've had Firefox for a couple of months now and I didn't realize that there was so many extensions for it!!! I just downloaded the foxforecast and gmail notifier along with the adblock.

Adblock kicks ass...
