Pain, pain, and hey, more pain

What's ur favorite pain med? Since I have extra time these days,what with not having bf#1 to play on , and I havent slept soundly for over an hour at a time, if that, for the last several months, or is it years? I have been in constant pain, which has progressed over the years, which has affected sleep, and gradually, the majority of my daily "routines", due to the fusion of 2 parts of my spine, low back and base of my neck. If I sit or stand in an uncomfortable position for over 15 minutes or so, I stiffen up like concrete, walkin like frankenstein. I have ankylosing spondylitis, to make a long story short, and live in Tennessee, where health care is pathetic, and my insurance only allows me to see certain smackers, err doctors, and they have been little help. I would compare the pain to having a bone broken, (collarbone, lets say, since thats the only bones I have broken)each time I move in a wrong manner, or stiffen up, even while lying still in bed.) I was curious if any of u guys knew of any pain medicines, new developments of certain pain blocking drugs, any holistic approaches, or new therapies for pain management that are not commonly known of, as I have done some research myself, and been put on several medications, most of which helped somewhat for a short period of time, then left me with serious side effects or tolerance, which leads to withdrawal...Wow what a smackerish-long thread, I know, u can kill me with impunity on bf2...unless Im in a tank. Wow. You should get a refferral to a good doctor who will help you.

in all seriousness, that sounds painfull
get a referral to a good doctor in boston
also, you may want to try a chyropracter and a good hot tub.

Yep sorry to about that-
I'll bet you got to get to Nashville or Memphis before you get anywhere with that. I would hesitate to ask for pain med referals from people in general. But I am not in your situation so.......

The only pain killers I know by name are the narcotic type the docs gave me for the pain in my toe!

My dad has pain like that. He has his lower vertebrae fused, he has an artificical knee, and he is going to need an artificial hip. He has constant pain much like you. Originally he was medicated through oral medecine, but it completely fucked with his mind so now he has a sub-dermal pain pump. Its a little pump about half the size of a hockey pump that is filled once a month with pain medecine. A small tube leads to his back. It uses really really concentrated morphine, but only in really small doses so it doesnt spread throughout the rest of his body. Hes on some other stuff to but I dunno what it is. Basically you want to stay away from large amounts and combinations of medicine, because it completely screws with you. Because of his medecine he has screwed up his sense of taste, he has really really bad soryosis (spelling??), he falls asleep while doing normal stuff, he cant sleep at night for more than a few hours at a time, and his kidneys arent working right...

So long story short, try not to let doctors over medicate you!
