What are your near-death experiences?

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

What are your near-death experiences?

Postby Armed Tourist » Wed Feb 02, 2005 12:21 pm

I 'd figure I would like to tell a fucked up tale of bullshit that occured awhile back.

The most recent thing I can remember happened to me when I was 18(I am currently 24, birthday was on Dec. 22). Anyway, a girlfriend of mine(well, actually she was a friend with "benefits" if you know what I mean) were driving up to a secluded mountain area. Traveling at a speed of 55 Mph, it was very foggy, late at night, we were both drunk(with 40 ounces still resting at the bottom of my feet) but we did have our seatbelts on

It seemed like a flash, but by the time I realised we were fucked, it was too late to say: "slow the fuck down bitch!". Well, we hit the ditch of a corner of the mountains' bottom edge, which met on a forked road. (Basicly, picture a V-shaped crossing, and we hit the middle of it)
My whole body hit the front of the dashboard and windshield pretty hard from the result of the powerful impact. We hit the ditch coming at a weird 15 degree angle, according to the damage from the car.

I'm guessing it was minutes later, I woke up still strapped to my seat-belt . I'm covered in blood from my head, to the bottom of my crotch and seat floor. All I felt was numbness, no pain yet. I was obviously quite shocked.
My gf was already out of the car, she went around to check on me from my side of the door. She asked me if anything felt broken, or if I had any specific pain anywhere.

I looked in the side-door rear mirror and noticed my nose was swollen up like a boxer, my eyes were swollen shut, and some tiny shards of glass smeared near the right corner of my eye. I told her, I just felt numb and nothing was bothering me at the moment. She was pretty banged up too. She had gotten rid of all the bottles very quickly, which obviously, was good for both of us, but mainly good for her since she was the one driving, not me.

Paramedics and the Fire Fighters arrived soon after some people had happened to drive by us, and called them for us. Medic said I was stuck in the seat, so they had to cut the door out to get me out of the car. We ended up in the hospital. Apparently, the only thing fucked up about me, was my nose being broken, and my upper left temple being banged up pretty good, and a slightly fractured shoulder.

I'd liked to think my ass was lucky I didnt fly threw the windshield. That could have been my ass, and I could have been blinded in my right eye too. It was pretty scary, at the same time it was a rush too.

well, ok monday.. fire call structure fire with possible intrapment. got on scene... went to the equitment truck grabbed a Scott pack threw it on, grabbed an axe busted the door in. started hosing it down, went in the structure, hose in one hand and partner behind me holding the hose. Micro Thermal Imaging Camera in the other searching for anyone, fire getting hotter and hotter and all of a sudden my warning buzzer goes off i ran out of oxygen, some fucktard muppet didnt fill it up after using it last. i couldnt breathe the smoke was thick and the air hot.. boards and glass falling from both fire and water that the other men where hosing down. needless to say if it wasnt for the partner behind me. i would have been done for. shared his mask and worked our way out backwards. scary feeling when u cant breathe, part of the job i guess. that was nothing compaired to others, but i dont really want to share them right now.

I usually cut myself every morning, due to the fact, after i am done shaving, i put hot water on my hands, which goto my face, creating a rubbery, layer, then i RE-shave that, it is the best, and closest way to get ALL the hair off your face, after that, with about 10+ not realy cuts, more like due to the fact that i have acne, but is not noticable until you get half a foot away from my face, after that, jump in the shower, do you thing, and put after shave on when you are all dry, right b4 you brush the teeth, and what not....... BURNS LIKE HELL, but is the only way to get the smoother than a baby's bottom feel, when going against the grain.

This happened in Nov of '02, and until this day I dont know what happened exactly, but apparently a truck broad sided my car in an intersection. He and I both were doing 50 mph. The guy had an older Ford F150 truck, so it was pretty big and had some weight to it. I was knocked out few a few hours, I had a concussion, dislocated right shoulder and my right ear and the side of my face were pretty cut up. If it would have hit me from the other side, I would have been dead...

Good news though, the can of Coke on top of the car survived the accident in tact!
