Martha Stewart's out of jail

Postby shockwave203 » Fri Mar 04, 2005 1:19 am

Martha Stewart, the lifestyle expert whose own life has been consumed by scandal in recent years, was released at 12:30 a.m. Friday from a prison in West Virginia.

Stewart spent the last five months at the minimum-security prison for women convicts in Alderson, W. Va. known as "Camp Cupcake." She was expected to go to a local airport, where she will begin her 550-mile journey home.

that's all fine and dandy, but this part really got me:

But leaving Camp Cupcake doesn't mean Stewart's rehabilitation is over. For starters, she'll spend the next five months confined to her Bedford, N.Y. estate, wearing an electronic ankle bracelet. She'll be on probation for two years after that.

listen, she broke the law and it serves her right to go to jail. but having to wear an electronic monitoring device?! she's not a threat to anyone. convicted rapists don't even have to wear these devices when they're set free:freak:

Ok....something isn't right when OJ is running around free and a 60 year old professional homemaker is wearing an ankle tracking device after her time served in prison :freak:

Well it's not after her time time served is it, she's just been released to serve the rest of her sentence at home. It's better than prison so I can't say I feel anything for he 'plight'...

Do many people skate and walk free while others pay? Yes in some cases. However, never use one wrong (OJ) to justify what you may feel is another. It just doesn't add up.

In the end she was caught and she was sentenced to prison time and house arrest. Don't play if ya can't pay.

I'm not saying Martha Stewart is innocent of her crime..... she was guilty and served her sentence as she should have. I'm just assessing the basic degree of threat she carries in comparison to someone like OJ who didn't serve time at all.

Both in essence are criminals as far as i'm concerned.

I just really dont think they need an electronic tracking device on her ankle ... but its probably just the policy in the process I'm guessing.

this whole case is bullshit.. insider information should not be illegal.. hey if you know some information or have friends who want to tip you off on what's going to happen, that's great.
How can they prove this anyway? Someone says something to another person over dinner, etc, etc..
Isn't that the whole idea of stock trading? Research and try to get information to improve your portfolio?

Im sure its a nationwide ankle bracelet. Give it a few months and everyone is going to be wearing it. Available at Kmart for 29.99.
