Navy Field

This game is a WWII naval combat game. It's a Massively Multi Player Online Tactics Game (MMOTSG) where you and how ever many players play each other in naval battles. I've been playing this for the past few days and I'm hooked. It has quite a learning curve, and later on it's harder to level up but its a fun game.

Right now I'm using my USS Solaris, which is a Fletcher class Destroyer (DD).

Here are some pictures of my ship and stuff:

My ship in the shipyard (with Dual 3"/50Caliber guns and 2 4x21" torpedo launchers)

My sailors (with a level 17 Bridge Operator and level 17 gunners)

It's currently in Beta testing. It is free, for the time being. Eventually when it goes retail they plan on a monthly fee, but no one is quite sure about that.

I'm starting a clan with the GOFW gamers/regulars, and anyone who is interested in joining, let me know.

Just to let you guys know, until you reach Level 12 (your level is the highest level sailor you have) you will be a Neutral player. You'll only have access to the basic Frigate (FF) or Destroyer (DD). When you turn Level 12, you get to change your Level 12 sailors to a nation. With this, you can select one sailor to be a Bridge Operator to allow you to command the nation's ships, where you'll start out as a more advanced DD than an NDD (Neutral DD).

Visit http://www.trainworld.us and the Navy Field forums for detailed information on everything in the game.

By the way join the VANCOUVER server. That's where I'm at. My game account is "Fosgate" and my ship is the USS Solaris.

Been dabbling myself, but still have a ways to go before I'll be level twelve. The learning curve is a little frustrating.

Last time I played I made an FFT, a torpedo frigate. No guns, just two 2x torps on the bow. Never sunk anything, but I know I scared a lot of people when they saw me swinging around for another attack run... well, I like to think they were scared, anyway.

Do you play with the auto or manual aim FCS?

I really need to read the manual...

Yes, I play too. (Amwhere on Seatlle):

Evan, the best loadout for the Fletcher is the 4"/50 duals which you get at level 19. In fact, I wouldn't use the Somers (the Gearing isn't that great) until level 20, where you get the 5/38 Duals. Also, learn manual. It pays.

Pudrick, neutral torps suck. Stick with guns for now.

Right now I have the 3"/50 duals. Pack a hell of a lot more punch than the 5" singles. Plus those 8 torpedoes I can launch..

It's quite a scary sight to see a bunch of people shoot torpedoes in your direction. Especially when you sacrifice all your armor for speed, like me.

Also, the only reason I don't like using the aiming FCS is because of the fact that I do a lot of crazy shit like moving through walls of torps when the last thing on my mind is the angle and direction of the guns. Heh heh.

You haven't seen the Kitakami yet, Evan. This CL has a total of 40 torp tubes. and the torps can go halfway across the map.

Hehe. I've seen it, Seattle server.

I just got my 4"/50 duals for my Fletcher. And I'm 100XP from my Somers.

So I got my Somers..

However, I don't have enough money to arm it with any weapons or even put an engine in. Guess I have to stick to my Fletcher for now. Hehe.

I'd be lying if I said the game had less bugs in it... in fact, some players consider the devs the game's worst enemy.

A good rule of thumb when outfiting ships, Evan, is that it takes at least 50% of the ships cost to outfit it, and that's not including armor.
