Hurricane Rita !!
You've gotta be kidding me!
http://tinyurl.com/auulr
This is turned into a category 5 hurricane!! If that rips into the gulf coast with this much power, it's just unthinkable. We already have millions of people evacuated from New Orleans and that area, if this hits someplace else and millions more people have to pick up and move, we are going to be in deep shit. I would think this time people will evacuate and Natl Guard will be in place, so deaths should be minimized. Can you imagine what gas will cost though, especially if it hits in the Texas side of the Gulf where all the remaining oil platforms and refineries have previously escaped Katrina's wrath?

Well they do say that 25% of the U.S's oil comes from Texas...so I can bet it will go back up to $3.00...I can't imagine it going much higher than that...lol...
I just wondered in a huricane I know it raines and theres very strong wind...Is there any thunder or lightning? I heard that there is only Lightning on the outer edges of the huricane?...And its only the begining of huricane season...I'm willing to bet that this won't be the last one...

Government officials eager to show they had learned their lessons from the sluggish response to Katrina sent in hundreds of buses to evacuate the poor, moved out hospital and nursing home patients, dispatched truckloads of water, ice and ready-made meals, and put rescue and medical teams on standby. An Army general in Texas was told to be ready to assume control of a military task force in Rita's wake.
Could it be that something positive will come from Katrina, and that the victims haven't died in vain?

Alot of the evacuating cost has evacuated to my city of Waco and all of our hotels are booked solid.. people are starting to even leave waco? so they are further up, ive been told and heard on the news that when it reaches waco it will still bring us anywhere from 80-100 mph winds and heavy rain fall and a high threat of tornadic activity... went to the grocery store to get basic items like batteries a flash light and some water.. water was sold out batteries were hard to find.. and flash lights were runnin dry quick.. but i did happen to witness people argue over water.. im not sure to expect the worst or if it blown out of proportion... i hope not man... i just hooked up $800 worth of car audio into my car:( i dont want it ruined.. lol anyways.. im told waco is in Ritas direct path...

Mugzy, Ralph, Sir Loin you guys have a room to spare up there in Dallas? j/k:D
It's a little crazy right now, all the gas stations are out of gas, good luck finding bottled water. Me and my dad just finished boarding up our windows as well as our neighbors. The house has gone through hurricanes before and should be ok, our area doesn't flood as bad as others around town. I'm just a little worried about my apartment.
Since I live on the southeast side of Houston nearest the Gulf of Mexico, my area is under mandatory evacuation starting 2 AM tomorrow. I'll be heading to Northern Louisiana for a couple of days to stay with family and hope Rita and her 130+ mph winds don't destroy my neighborhood, not to mention the potential 20+ inches of rainfall.

They still saying global warming is a myth?
It is a myth. Another fairy tale made up by wacked-out, eco-nazis.
You know, I could prove damn near anything if I started out with a small enough sample of data and extrapolated it far enough out into the future.
When I was in high school (many moons ago) scientists were prediciting another ice age.

No one really knows for sure. 50% of the scientists say yes, 50% say no.... People willl believe whatever they want to believe.

Another Awesome Sig by Evan - Thanks man!
