No, it's not another forbidden political thread from Cav!

This page has some interesting stuff about the German WWII propaganda campaign. Besides the translated text of speeches, check out the poster, leaflets, flyers, etc. I love propaganda posters, the WWII ones are the most interesting IMHO. Fascinating stuff.

Anyway, kind of interesting but also kind of scary stuff to read. Did you notice the drawings of people looked a lot like the people in the allied propaganda too?

Just wanted to throw this out, in spite of the joking, this thread isn't intended to insult any Germans who might frequent these boards, I just find WWII propaganda posters to be fascinating, including the US and Soviet ones. I'm not trying to be politically correct, I just didn't want any Germans to feel like we're ganging up on them.

Don't get Germans as a people confused with Nazism. Not all Germans are/were Nazis and not all Nazis were/are German. Cav just doesn't mean to offend anyone of German descent. Offending a nazi though? Be my guest, if you ask me.

To be honest, you're more likely to offend someone who is Jewish or Polish by posting those links.

Yeah, as annoying as it gets for us Americans to take shit from other people about slavery and Indians, it must be just as annoying for modern day Germans to have to listen to shit about the Nazis. I guess it's all in the presentation. I just wanted to make sure this wasn't another 'look how bad the nazis were' thing--everyone knows what they did. Thing like this it's best to suspend emotion and look at the mechanics of WWII propaganda. Then find the funniest posters and laugh like hell at them. :lol:

To bad. You commit genocide/let people take control of your country who commit genocide you are fair game in my book. We may have killed of the Indians but we did it for their land and our security not out of hatred for their race.

Uh.. dude.. looks like you need to go back and read history. Americans performed genocide and I'm not sure if this is a word or not, culturicide (trying to eliminate all Native American cultures). We were not alone in doing this and yes, Native Americans were hated as a race.
How do you perform genocide on a race you love?

WTF? Are you guys pulling my leg on this??????? I frigging go out of my way to say this isn't supposed to be about thowing guilt in anyone's face, and then you guys use that to start throwing guilt in each others face? Are you serious??
Deathbob, those people are gone, or they're elderly, either way, they aren't reading this board!! I threw out this placation toward any younger person to let them know this wasn't a shot at them, they had nothing to do with anything.
