King Kong reviews

Postby cavalierlwt » Wed Dec 14, 2005 7:02 am

Ebert gave 'King Kong' 4 stars, said it's one of the best movies of the year. Can't wait to see it.

I'm a sucker for giant monsters, Jurassic Park, all that stuff, just love it.

It's going to be awesome! Review from Cnn gives a high rating.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Movies/12/14/review.king.kong/index.html

"In a word, Jackson's "King Kong," is spectacular, awesome, phenomenal and breathtaking. OK, so I can't boil it down to one word."

"This film is in a class of its own. If anyone ever tries to do another remake of "King Kong," they should be put in a rubber room."

A guy I work with went to go see it at midnight last night. He was prepared to be up until at least 4 am as the movie has a run time of 3 hours 7 minutes. Then you have the previews of course.

That's one of the things I like about the director Peter Jackson, if he's got good stuff, he ain't afraid to let it rip for 3 hours. You really get you're money's worth with him!

I remember during the Lord of the Rings movies.. at the end of each one, I was like "aww man, is that it?" I was ready for more. His 3 hour flics seem like 1 hour.

Yep, 3 good hours is better than 90 crappy minutes, which is what I usually get when I go to the movies.

Speaking of movies, I just grabbed 'The 40 year old virgin' on DVD. If you haven't seen this movie, rent it, or borrow it from someone. It is a great movie. In fact, 'Wedding Crashers' and '40 year old virgin' make a great movie marathon.

anybody ever watched peter jackson's early films like Bad Taste and Dead Alive? they're both zombie gore movies and both extremely bloody, but the effects are great for low budget films. if you're into that kinda movie i'm sure you've seen or heard of them, but if you haven't you might wana check them out one day.

King Kong was amazing; it was just apsolutely stunning how they pulled it off in the computer art graphics department. I believe this movie will win many awards, it just does not get any better. They brought to life King Kong in no other way I could have ever imagined. It is a must see; I mean you could add this to the list of movies in a book I once saw called "Movies that you must see before you die". It was just so sad...though we all knew it was coming :(

It did take along time for it to get started, You know where the actual action was, but there was story to be told that was required in the begining... :)
