wow, that's really clever! Seems like it would make an excellent xmas gift. So, it appears to be student project. Pretty impressive.

I don't think it a super leap in technology, it's a very clever idea. Not just the steering wheel control, but I think the little pads (water, oil, powerups) make it so kids can lay out their own little race courses and compete, then change the layout again to keep it fresh. Almost like having a live action video game.
