Vid card selection

Postby flapjack » Mon Mar 20, 2006 11:22 am

I'm currently running a 9800xt and have started noticing some minor anomalies while playing. Also, frame rate and settings are not that great for bf2.

I'm probably going to buy a new card and was considering this one (6800GS):

Will this be a noticeable improvement over a 9800XT? If not Ill probably just ride this one for a bit longer. Budget = $200 - 300.

Thanks

You could get a 7800GS in that range which will give you a more noticable improvement.

Look at this - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16814130275

Faster GPU and memory and more pipes.

Thanks guys. I did get the 7800GS. When I first intstalled it I put all my seetings on high and jumped into BF2. It was was very choppy every few seconds. I opened up my AGP appreture to 256 and now this thing runs like butter. All settings on high and 4AA. Great card!!
