LOL, Nintendo is actually going to make a profit on each unit they sell, plus whatever they can make on game licensing revenues. They might seem like a small time player these day, but in a way you can call them the winner of the console wars...M$ and Sony are both going to lose assloads of money on their consoles.

Don't know about the XBox, but Sony has always taken a hit on the hardware side, but went on to make it up with the sales of it's software products.

Both Sony and XBox lost money. Xbox lost a total of 4 Billion, I'm not sure what the total loss was for Sony, but they did start out losing $180 per unit, before the big price drop, and I doubt they ever bounced back from there. It's a weird game of 'chicken' these two are playing.
