Why does my hardware acceleration keep resetting to BASIC? I want it on full.

In Windows, control panel, sounds, under performance my hardware acceleration keeps resetting to BASIC after a system reboot. I want it on FULL like it normally was but it is not saving. I have the latest Creative drivers.
