We have same day registration in NH, so you can show up to the polls, get in one line to register (with proper IDs, proof of residences, etc) and then afterward get in the other line and vote.

I may sound like a sap, but you can really feel the power when you vote, regardless of how your choices do in the elections. Just being a part of the process feels amazing. I was looking forward to voting all day.

A good friend of mine suggested a great idea: a national holiday on Election day. Take your time, vote, then enjoy a nice day off. It's only once every two years, and certainly more people would vote. Beats the shit out of some of the other holidays we have.

I don't think you sound like a sap, I get the same feeling every single time I vote. Something powerful about actually having a voice in the choice. Beats living in 85% of the world.

I'm also happy we can stop seeing all the ads on TV, 95% of them just rip the other person then for 5 seconds at the end tell you what they are about...... like listening to 4th graders fight.
