Postby TiNM@N » Thu Dec 21, 2006 2:46 pm

A friend of mine has a Fileplanet Subscription so i'm DL the demo right now. Not sure if you need the subsrcription to get the game but i figured this would be faster.

played a few minutes, looks like the multiplayer demo

server interface leaves something to be desired...

in-games voices are fugly

rifles have a hellish recoil, making it difficult to hit anything

seems like your rifle sways easly when just looking, hard to keep anything in your sights.

I have issue when you pull up your optical scope, everything inside the sights and the natural world (outside the scope) are at the same distance.

Its defenately not the BF2 Oman DEMO, where you can jump in-game and easily understand your closest enemy.

if your a sqaud leader with BOTS and you die, you hop into the next soldier, until your out of men.

IMO i think it will take a lot of love to learn this game. Reminds me of the BF2 mod Project Reality... no run-n-gun, brief pause when going prone to shoot.

id suggest starting your own capture the flag server (lock it) and using the time to get used to the controls. gives you a chance to control AI troops and such with out the idiots TKing you in the open servers.

Just tried this demo...what a POS.

Everything is so clunky/robotic and it seems like the soldier you play is in no hurry to do anything. It takes the character about an hour and a half to neatly fold down the lens covers on his scope, put his gun on safe, tuck it nicely behind his back, gently pull out his AT launcher, and take aim. Then you always end up getting killed during the process because he has to be on a knee during the entire routine and can't be moved. WTF?

Definately not buying the release of this title.

As i said in the begining LAST LINE ... "IMO i think it will take a lot of love to learn this game." This is closer to a simulation... it's not fawking BF2, or unreal2007. or any other 'RUN N GUN, SHOOT from the HIP' fps.

Secondly its the freaking DEMO... granted BF2142 Demo was crap .. but my (and others) had our reasons on why we weren't buying that game.
Wait for the single player demo to come out before you totally dismiss this game.

THe orginal was sweet, (gaphics were fugly) but the game play and freedom was beyond anything else offered at the time or to date..
