Closing our borders 2

Postby PudriK » Tue Mar 25, 2003 5:40 pm

This got lost in all the bull$#!% in that other thread:

You're right, I am getting lost in the trees. I would agree that tracking people is a much more attainable goal. At the least, they need to start demanding proof of citizenship or naturalizationin order to obtain simple civic services, such as driver's licensces, medical care, etc. Not that it could be refuesed (medical care), but it would result in immediate processing for deportation. At the same time, they have to remove barriers to obtaining work visas. I say, get 'em in and make 'em pay taxes like everyone else.

The effort needs to be made to streamline the process at the same time as making it more comprehensive.

The sea and air border problem is still very challenging, even limiting it to human cargo.

Maybe it would help to streamline the process for deportation. There are many people in this country with expired visas and no real agency has the manpower to police. Idea- go to a flat tax and put all the irs employees in the dept of immig and naturalization.

I agree with the BS part Pud... mofos need to learn the meaning of the word "topic"... don't want to have to break out the dictionary again...

I think the sea and air thing would be easier if we could actually DETER some people by getting tough.

Think of the USA like a beautiful, safe park in the middle of the bad part of town. The only thing that keeps the bums and muggers out is the guards with guns and the fences. (metaphor alert!)

We definitely aren't tough enough. It may be hard to keep people out of our park, but we should be willing to throw them out if they don't have a ticket stub.

Manpower and money. It is easy, but no one wants to pay for it. It will probably take something terrible to make the powers to be realize this wave must stop. We are all imigrants to the US (except indians) and mostly european, but even back then there was a checkpoint at Ellis Island!
