Judging by the desert environment and the sound of rounds cooking off afterwards, I suspect this was probably an ammunition dump somewhere in Iraq or Afghanistan. Based on the 100 tons, probably Iraq. They've been routinely getting rid of old ammunition caches due to the potential hazards they present and the use of ammunition by the insurgents.
