NASCAR: at Watkins Glen

Postby Chin_Sack » Mon Aug 04, 2008 11:41 pm

FYI, I will be leaving Wed night, Thursday morning for Watkins Glen. Not sure how many race fans we have. Or if anyone else will be going. But if you are going. Look for the black 3 bus in or around the "cairasel" turn. Theres uselly a party goin on at some point.

Hopefaly, this year I will have the time to make a sign for "Trackside" on speed. I dont know though...

Ill write up a post later after I get back with pics i take while there...
I may not be the best
I may not be the worse
But I will do my best...

I've often wondered why when people have nothing good to say they feel the need to speak up. I also wonder if after this incredible insight Chin_Sack is going to sell His tickets and Earnhardt Bus and go to the Zoo to watch the monkey exhibit. Maybe it's the drama that keeps us from ending up with the monkeys in the exhibit.

Because that is the very essence of having an opinion!!

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution and the intestinal fortitude to speak one's opinion is what keeps us out of the monkey cage. Whether one thinks that such opinion is "nothing good" or not is a subjective claim - which undoubtedly would vary amongst a population!

I think NASCAR is silly. Going around in a circle 500 times only making left hand turns isn't exciting for me.

Now I understand that it is exciting for some...but not for me. Not my cup of tea. Personally I hope Chin_Sack has a good time - I've seen NASCAR fans and they seem quite dedicated and always look like they're having a good time. Good for them (and I mean that...no sarcasm there). But NASCAR simply doesn't get my adrenaline pumping.

And I feel compelled to point out that it would be a feeble mind that believes a distaste of NASCAR is akin to a distaste of NASCAR fans.

I also have a pretty big opinion about NASCAR drivers, but that's a whole 'nother thread.

PS - My opinion is biased with the fact that I have semi-professionally raced cars for 15 years now. You can read about my "hobby" here.
