Ain't life a bitch!

On Friday I'm taking off for Cyprus. I have a 11-hour layover in Munich.
Which means we're landing smack into Oktoberfest. I'm certainly not spending 11 hours in Munich airport. There's a 40-minute train ride to the city center.
I just have to memorize 2 german words:
bier
wurst
which pretty much defines Oktoberfest.
I think I'm gonna need a few days in Cyprus to work off the, er, jetlag.

Fick dich (only use when intoxicated and you're about to knock somebody's block off)
I went there last year and if you don't reserve a space in the tent early on, you'll have a hell of a time obtaining beer. We eventually got a couple of steins, but it wasn't easy. Waiting in lines to take a piss is brutal and watch out for drunken instigators. I saw this guy get clocked in the face and fall to the ground unconscious.
Have a great time. It's a hell of a trip

I did.
I didn't spend too much time in the bier garten, on account that it was 7C and raining. There were huge tents with clear plastic sides and everyone was sitting down getting drunk and freezing his balls.
Nice city though.
Now I'm back from a stroll on the beach in Lemesos (yes, at 4:30 AM) and it's warm. It never rains in Cyprus.

Chacal, I was in Munich earlier this summer. Where was the bier garten you went to? We went to the Hofbrauhaus, and a couple others that I can't remember.

You were probably in one of the big Bierhalles downtown. During Oktoberfest, each major brewery sets up a huge tent on the Theresienwiese for the fest and the drinking begins. These are typically temporary structures, taken down after the festival. But the Bierhalles are open all year round.

Yes, it was on Theresienwiese, one subway station away from the HauptBahnhof.
