Aight, I am looking into getting some new vid cards for my main PC. I am currently running nvidia 7900 GS's ( SLi ). And I been looking at new egg for some 9800 512 SLi supported cards. People say to go for the EVGAs, I know they have the nvidia chip sets.

I am also looking into getting some new RAM. Currently run 4 stix of 512 on my windows XP media PC. And I want to go up to 4 stix of 1gig RAM. Last thing I remember hearing is the PC wont READ 4gigs RAM. But it will USE the 4 gigs. Is this still correct? or has that changed? And what brand of RAM is affordable, but reliable? (Kingston/Chosair). I will be geting 4 srix of DDR2 1 gig ram. Is there anything I should look up on the MoBo to make sure I dont get the wrong type of ram? Cause I think I have DDR2 now.

I have a pentium 3.6 possessor <sp>. an I think a 720 power source. I would state the motherboard (Nvidia MoBo). But I am not back home to tell you. I can say its a Dell XPS 600 that I bought a few years ago. Its still under warranty as well. But those 7900 are starting to show there age.

I personally wouldn't go for SLI. The increase in just a few framerates doesn't justify the cost of the second card. Thats my personal preferance though. However, I would consider taking a look at Nvidia's GTX 260 '216' card. The specific card on newegg that your looking at also would be great to know as well. But just going off what 2 Nvidia 9800 cards will cost ~>$300 or so I would look at getting a single card. Also what kind of price range are you looking at? Also are you looking at just buying a new computer?

As for the Ram, it looks like the MB on your computer only supports up to DDR2 667MHz. And according to Dell's site it only supports up to 2gigs. So right now your running 2 GB of ram with the 4 stixs of 512 MB. And the whole 4 GB of ram support thing, only 64bit OS will recognize 4 or more gigs or ram, 32bit OS only recognizes ~3.5 gigs. Thats all I really know in that department. As far as brand is concerned, Corsair, Kingston, G.Skill, Mushkin, Patriot are all good brands. I have only dealt with Kingston and so far they haven't failed me yet.

Ok I cant seem to find the exact MoBo anywhere to figure out what kind of DDR2 ram I can use. What I got with the PC is DDR2 667.


What I have from looking at the mother board.

I dont know if those are "O" or "0".

I plan on buying this stuff sometime this week. If I can get stuff slightly faster then DDR2 667. I would like to.
