NVIDIA retakes the crown...
I think the reviews tell all....

Also, Toms hardware has a review as well but I kept timing out on it.
Obviously, this is what the FX5800 SHOULD have been.

Nvidia retakes the crown, then next week it's back to ATI, then back to Nvidia in 6 months, then back to ATI, then to Bitboys for a product that will never actually materialize, then back to ATI, then to Nvidia......
Christ, who gives a flying fuck anymore........ THEY BOTH MAKE GOOD CARDS!!!
.......okay, enough sugar for me.

I agree with, Cpl. Bingham. The whole, "who makes the fastest video card" thing is just gonna go back and forth. Anyway, the 5900 seems like a great card.
Edit: here's more benchmarks/reviews of the 5900

This card *barely* retakes the crown if you look at a lot of the benches . . . take into account the fact that it STILL takes up two slots in the computer and won't be out until June . . . Nvidia's stil got a long way to go before regaining my loyalty.
Besides - I just ordered my new ATI 9800Pro 256MB.

This is the same situation when AMD and Intel worked very hard 2 years ago to see who was the guy that developed the first 1Ghz processor..., now the cards that are most expensive than the CPU themselves
It makes perfect since that the high end video cards are more expensive than CPU's. The latest GPUs have more transistors (is that the right work), conduct more calculations per second and include RAM.
But, I agree that any one company only holds the title temporarily. I for one lost a lot of faith in NVIDIA with the production, marketing, and introduction of the 5800 card. Once the 5900 is on the shelves in stores, then I will agree that they are once again king of video.

Uh, guys, keep in mind that the 5900 was just announced, well a few weeks after 9800 Pro was announced. E3 is coming up and I'm willing to bet that ATI will announce their next generation GPUs.
Announcing of a new product is one thing, but mass producing and shipping it out on all retail channels is another.
The 9800 Pro is available for sale around my area already, but then again, I live 20 minutes away from ATI HQ in Toronto.
And looking closely at the benchmarks scores between 9800 Pro and 5900, the difference is minuscle, usually no more than 15fps lead by the 5900.

Not according to the HardOCP tests . . .
But I digress . . . the 5900 currently SPANKS the 9800PRO256 in DoomIII, although it may just be driver issues at this point, since NV has specifically said that their drivers are "built to play doom", whereas ATI's have not yet been tweaked.
Also, ATI will be anouncing its next-gen card at E3, with a street date of august.
