KillerSneak released new DNA drivers. These are modified/hacked drivers from DNA. The drivers have been optimized for better Image Quality and more/stable frames per second compared to the official Catalyst drivers from ATI.

i'm using omega, but i just downloaded some new 'leaked' ati driver that omega modified. anyone have any idea what this is?

it's the top one...i think it's just an omega released based on an ATI leaked driver version.

i will give it a try, since i'm having crashing problems in CoD with ATI 3.8

Shock, my advice would be to not use 'em. I mentioned in another thread that last night (well, 2 nights ago now) my 9700pro took a massive, catastrophic failure on me. This was after doing a clean install of windows, installing all the newest drivers for all hardware (including the omega's you speak of), and then BF. After 2hrs or so of playing, I suddenly had massive graphical corruption on screen. When I rebooted (via reset button), I had the same garbage in bios, at which point I knew the card to be fubar. This was veified the next morning when I turned it back on. I stuck in an old geforce2 and it booted fine.

Now, this evening, playing on my brand new 9800pro, after about 45min of playtime, the SAME THING occured. I freaked out (naturally), and rebooted. This time, though, the card was fine in bios, and booted windows ok. I promptly uninstalled the omegas, ran ATI's uninstall utility, and rebooted. Installed the OEM cat 3.8's, and played fine the rest of the night. Event log of WinXP showed the driver had gone into an infinite loop and not recovered on the prior crash.

just my 2 cents, but this is the second time I've had bugs/issues with the omega's.....I'll never touch 'em again. I think they may have killed my other card, which was already weak. (It wasn't o/c'd at the time of failure.)

Can someone tell me how I would OC a 9600pro and if it is even worth it. I had some crashing problems with the CoD Demo's. More crashes on the second demo. Right when I go for the panzer it freezes up. Always seem to crash in the same area. After I blow the Tiger and go back to where the church it will freeze again.

Jax, you can use Radclocker, which is purely an overclocking util, or the Rage3d tweak. Powerstrip also works, I believe. Be warned, There's ALOT of people talking about overheating issues with the newest cat's (3.8), and some have even suffered card deaths (read above, it happened to me, although I confess I was running the beta Omega drivers).

actually i think you are right. while using the 3.8 omega and the newer leaked omega, sometimes CoD will just lock up. other times, when I exit BF42, windowsXP is pink...

I think I'll go back to the omega 3.7's, because I've never had any trouble with them. i wont use ATI 3.8's because i OC my card and get a BIG increase in performance with doing so, and omega allows me to do that easily. otherwise i have to download a bios and flash it onto the card, something I do not want to do.

The bios flash is pretty easy (did it before with my 9500pro), but I certainly understand. I've had alot of issues with the omega's, and will probably avoid them. I'm holding off on o/c'ing this puppy until I decide if I'm keeping it (the 9800XT's come out on the 26th, I might swap 'em out if I can swallow the price!).

Buli, that's certainly understandable, but it's a rather addicting habit once you get started. I've gained 500MHz over stock on my processor (1800XP=1500MHz, I'm at 2000MHz), and 67MHz on my mem (PC2700=333MHz, PC3200=400MHz). To each his own, eh?
