No internet tax

Postby Needlepoint » Mon Nov 24, 2003 12:14 pm

The senate is hearing a bill this month that would allow states and the federal government to tax the internet. Taxation proposals include a flat tax, an email tax (each email is taxed), and a bandwidth tax. Go here to try and stop this nonsense http://www.nointernettax.org/index.cfm?Page=ActionItems.

No point in trying really. This type of bill has been tabled and then roundly defeated many, many times. Although congress seems to be out to serve themselves most of the time, they seem to have their heads on straight when it comes to Internet Taxes.

There needs to be some form of sales tax for internet orders. This is coming from someone who operates a successful family business on the internet.

States are losing a ton of money that they badly need.

OMFG!

Jimmy Tango

What a friggin moron!

Money they badly need?

FUCK THAT!

between federal, state, and local taxes and charges the average American pays over 56% of their total income to taxes!

Over half the money we make goes to the goverment and for what?

I had thought you were somewhat intelligent from some of the posts you put up before but I didn't realize how ignorant you are.

So NO! they don't need any more of my money and in fact they need to take less.

if over 50% of your income is being paid out in taxes, you're doing something wrong.

Jimmy Tango, just because the state governments tax more doesnt mean the public benefits. Sometimes *alot of the time, people are better at determining where and what their money goes to. I think you must be either very liberal or have some legislators in your close family, or very misguided, * naively optomistic about how states allocate money.
