PS. Are you finding this stuff off of a website, and if so, which one?

if you're going to be buying a nice system like that, you should really get a better video card. Paying the higher prices for the hardware, then having a video card bottlekneck you, seems sort of like a waste.
I'd save up an extra hundred bucks and buy a really good video card, that way you can enjoy more out of your system. If not, then buy a slower processor to save some money.
the fx5600 ultra is cheap because it's not what you'd call a 'high end card'
it looks like it would be fast, sounds like it would have some speed, but it really doesnt.
"In the standard tests without FSAA and anitotropic filtering, the FX 5600 Ultra seems to be just about the same or slower than a GeForce4 Ti4200 8x and Radeon 9500 PRO. This might be due to the reduced pixel pipelines (2x2, as opposed to 4x2). With 4xFSAA, it appears to reach nearly double the performance of the 4200, beating a 4800 as well, but it loses out to the Radeon 9500 PRO. It's a similar picture with the anisotropic filtering. In the pixel shader tests from 3DMark 2001, it beats the 4200/2800, but loses in the vertex shader tests. In both tests, it clearly loses to the Radeon 9500 PRO. "

There is a Radeon 9600 PRO at newegg.com for $139.00, and it is MUCH faster than the 5600
just something to think about.

wow i didnt know that the 5600 ultra was a crappy card...ive had the 9600 pro in the past but it was just average in performance. call of duty with 1 gig 2700 and xp2500...with the 9600 pro....i couldnt go 1024x768 with max detail...what about the new 5700 ultra.....and is it true that you can take a 9600 pro and through software enable the other 4 pipelines....there is a website that has it going for 100 bucks right now.great deal.
Ive had these video cards in the past....
voodoo 3 2000
matrox g200
nvidia g2 mx400
nvidia mx440
radeon 9600 pro
radeon 9700 pro
nvidia ti4400
geforce fx 5200
geforce fx 5200 ultra
geforce fx5800
the best cards i thought was the 9700 pro and the ti4400....i shouldve held onto them haha..

wait let me get this straight...You at one time have had 9700pro,9600pro, and a fx5800; and now you want 5600 ultra

you are not supposed to get bored with hardware, especially if it perfroms really good.

I really dont know what to suggest to you here. Im still in a daze after seeing what cards you have had but then let go of.
If you still had tha 9700 pro, I could come up with a pretty decent system for 400 bucks to go along with it.
