I don't fly much on BF, but used to a lot years ago on Air Warrior 1-3, Fighter Ace 1&2, etc. I had my own squadron when I was really into it. AW3 had built-in radios, and the B17 had 7 crewmembers. When EA bought it out, they canned the online stuff, but it was fun while it lasted. At that point Fighter Ace became the only massive online flight sim available.

I still have a subscription for Fighter Ace that my son mainly uses. When the server gets full, there can be as many as 200+ planes. It takes a lot of teamplay, and really does look nice seeing a full squadron of P-38's, B17's or whatever plane you want. So if you want to try it out for free, give it a shot.
