Postby Bullhead » Wed Dec 17, 2003 3:33 pm

New drivers released today, v. 3.10. included in the many fixes is this:

"Playing the game Battle Field 1942 under Windows XP results in the Haze effect appearing incorrectly "

I'll be playing with these later today when I get home from work! :D

lol.....I've debated doing it before, but he was on a mission to 3000....now I've got to sabotage him at every chance :D (although he'll spam these threads with responses, I'm sure :D)

OMG.

Do not upgrade to these drivers with a 9600 Pro card. EVERYTHING while i'm on my desktop renders at a snail's pace. Some things aren't even being rendered.

I rolled back to the Cat 3.9's - everything is perfectly normal.

Did you do an install over the 3.9's, or a clean install (using driver cleaner, etc.) ???

Tried both. Usually installing over the driver's works well because ATI's drivers clear the current drivers out (but leave a cache in case you need to rollback the driver).

I will try them out on my 9600pro when I get home and see if I get the same results.

Installed them after cleaning out all old drivers, and no issues so far. Loaded up BF for a little single player testing, and no problems to report......will stress test tonight after I get some more packing done........

ugggh......OMega drivers have been nothing but nightmares for me.....I'm fairly sure they killed my 9700pro (yes, it was o/c'd), since the exact same thing occured to my 9800pro, brand new non-overclocked, only the 9800pro recovered from it....I'll never use 'em again.....

I found the source of the problem I have. The ATI control panel was causing everything to render very slowly - so I downgraded back to the 3.9 Cat's (still with 3.10 control panel just to test) and it still rendered slowly.

Then I completely uninstalled every ATI driver file, reloaded my Cat 3.9's and everything is running great.
