Headphones not working

Postby mattdeez » Mon Dec 22, 2003 1:03 pm

Okay, some of you might remember...but I just installed a new soundcard. I have a dell dimesion 4300 and it had integrated sound. Well I disabled that, installed the new card and everything works great. Accept, the headphones jack on the front of the PC doesn't work, I understand that since the integrated sound is disabled that is does not work.

What I want to know is there a way make it function w/ my new soundcard?

What soundcard do you have now?

Maybe you can try to plug the headers to the soundcard itself, otherwise you may have to just plug the headphones on the back of the card. Or if you're like me, my speakers have a headphone jack... :)

does it have an option for digital out only? if that is selected disable it because the headphones will only work with analog. I know that by default after a new install for creative cards this option is sometimes enabled and a bitch to find so might be the same with your card
