That's terrible. I was just looking for old posts about buying components to put a computer together and now I'm all bummed out.

I already have a 9700 Pro Chacal and Shockwave. I am looking to upgrade just about everything else. Also, I don't need your sloppy seconds - I was looking for web sites to buy new parts from.

Would a 9600 Pro to a 9800 Pro be a good idea at this time?

no, you should probably wait. in a month, ATI will be releasing the R420, which will drive the price of the 9800pro down
