compaq problems
My girlfriends computer is retarded. Its a Compaq Presario 6265AA/ Amd Athlon xp 1800+/ Windows XP home. It has cable internet access and shares w/ one other computer through a Lynksis router.
Alright, you can surf the web w/ no problems, but any secure sites...like a bank or if you try to purchase something you always get the 'page cannot be found' message. You can't even log into Hotmail...but you can log into Yahoo??
Internet Explorer does have 128 bit encryption.
I've tried w/ and w/out a firewall.
I've tried different settings of security in 'internet options'.
I can't even play Wolfenstein--Enemy Territory....it won't list any servers(and yes the source is from the Internet).
I'm stumped...any help is appreciated.

Can you login to your router from the computer? you can login from internet explorer typing the IP address of it then just see if any settings are causing it not to allow certain things. That's the only thing I can think of. If it's shared with another computer maybe the other person who uses that computer is restricting you from using certain sites?
